My kids decided that five minutes before we had to head to a dentist appointment would be a good time to strike up a game of basketball. Inside the house. Nobody shed any blood, but trying to dunk and dribble in the confined space of their bedroom led to a broken lamp and a bruise I awkwardly had to explain to the dentist. We spent the car ride in bitter silence. I was so mad and frustrated. And this is just how motherhood goes some days. When your kids are being troublemakers, it’s hard to be thankful for them.
Even on those days when motherhood’s a challenge, there’s always something about our children to be thankful for.
