Adventure… passion… sacrifice; these are at the heart of the Thanksgiving story. Three hundred eighty-nine years ago today, 41 men signed the Mayflower Compact before stepping foot on American soil. The men and their families had journeyed for weeks across the Atlantic, and within four months of their arrival, more them half of them would be dead.
So why did they risk their lives to come to America? Why would three pregnant women agree to make the treacherous crossing (personally, I don't even like getting on a plane for 2 hours, when I'm pregnant!), and who was the baby born on the voyage?
