3 Things Kids Really Want

While I was writing iMOM’s Espresso Minute emails at home yesterday, my 8 year old son was there too, home from school, sick.  He started taking an interest in what I was writing and piped in, “Mom!  I have some email ideas for you!”  Here’s what he shared: Give your child a prize if they do their homework with a good attitude.  Make meals your kids like.  And, the one that really got me, Each week, the family does something together.

So in the busyness of our lives, packed with activities, appointments and rushing here and there, remember these 3 things your kids really want from you:

That is priceless…I just recently discovered your website and I want to thank you, your words lighten my load and really lift me up. I get excited and encouraged to try new approaches to parenting and growing my marriage.

What a timely email for me! I’ve been struggling with feeling like I’m not providing enough “structured activity” for my 2 year old; should I be teaching her letters, how to write, am I even doing this parenting thing right?! You are right on! We are both most happy when we simply play together and focus on each other! Thanks for the reassurance; love you site and the emails!
