Mom vs. Cat

The mom vs. cat showdown started at Petco, where the cute little kittens up for adoption were on display. Here’s how it went:

Mom stares at cat.  Cat stares at mom.   Mom looks at daughter looking longingly at cat.  Cat looks at mom with a look that says, “I’m moving into your house.”  Mom vs. cat?  Cat wins.

I am not an animal person but a cat is moving into my home this summer.  Why?  Because my daughter wants one.  She’s the extreme opposite of me when it comes to animals.  She lives them, breathes them, and loves them, and I know having a cat will bring her great joy and will also teach her responsibility.

Thankfully, I am not going it alone in my Mom versus Cat drama. iMOM has a couple of printables that should make my animal transition a smooth one. And if your home is pet-free, we have other ways you can teach your children responsibility and a good work ethic.

Ironic, I LOVED having a dog before having kids…now our poor pup is the stepchild. Our 92 pounder takes up a whole room when he is in it, and with two littles under three, oh I can understand why the stereotypical mama doesn’t want pets. *sigh* You are a GREAT MAMA to do this for your daughter, and it will teach both of you many things. ENJOY. Want a dog? LOL.
