23 Marriage Lessons in 23 Years

“I’ve been married for 23 years and have had children for 22 of those years. During that time, I’ve learned many important things,” so says iSpecialist Mark Merrill.  “I’ve learned that children grow up so fast. I’ve learned there are very few things I really can control and I’ve spent too much time trying to control too many things. I’ve learned that marriage takes a lot of hard work. I’ve learned how selfish I am and how dangerous my tongue can be. And I’ve certainly learned that nothing else is more important than relationships. If it doesn’t have a heartbeat, it’s ultimately not worth much.”

Here are the rest of the 23 things Mark has learned in 23 years of marriage, and another lesson about what keeps a marriage strong, even years after you say I do.

What have you learned in the years of your marriage?
