Good Communication: How to TALK to Your Kids

 

When my daughter was about three, I was reprimanding her for something.  On and on I went, telling her why what she did was wrong.  Finally, she looked at me with exasperation, and with her little girl voice said, “Mommy, you’re talking to me like a grown up and I don’t understand what you’re saying!”  The point is, in my adult world I had forgotten that little minds are just that, little.  They process and communicate in a much simpler, yes, sweeter way.
