5 Tips for a Meaningful Family Weekend

 

I was recently talking to a coworker about our kids and their activities.  He said that on weekends when his kids don’t have sporting events, he wakes up on Saturday morning and thinks, “How are we going to fill this weekend?” That’s exactly how my husband and I feel!  It’s not that we don’t want to do other things with the kids, it’s just that if you don’t default to watching TV or playing on the computer all day, those hours can be tough to fill meaningfully.

At the other extreme are families who overbook their weekends to the point that everyone is exhausted and not refreshed when Monday rolls around.  And, since the weekend is a chance to catch up on to-do’s—especially for busy, two-career families—cleaning, chores and errands can eat up chunks of time too.

So before your weekend gets too full or stays too empty, start here:
