Honor favor #6: Prayer

Here is one way you can make your family a place where honor is given away...

Regularly pray for others. Take an extra few minutes before a family meal to list prayer requests. Report back as those prayers are answered. Encourage children to focus on others in their prayers. Many children thank God for the nice day and then focus on their enjoyment and needs. Help children to think beyond themselves by discussing needs. When friends or family members tell you about needs, share these needs with your children and take a few minutes to pray together. As you listen to a news broadcast or read the newspaper, think about the people behind the stories and pray for them. Children may not able to help in tangible ways, but they can pray.
