Blizzard Surprise

The fun here is all about the surprise.  Picture this: you're finishing up a routine meal on a non-school night.  Everybody starts helping to clear the table (we can hope, right?).  With a low-key delivery, mom or dad announces, "It's Blizzard time!"  That's Blizzard as in the Dairy Queen specialty.  Of course, you can make your night anything you like—donut time, Slurpee time, candy bar time.

Leave the dirty dishes in the kitchen sink and head straight for the car.  After you get your treat, go home for a quick game, movie or video game tournament; go for a walk; visit a park or a playground.
