Spring Break Family Adventure Challenge

If your family doesn’t have travel plans for spring break this year, you may be looking for good ways to fill the time. Look no further! iMOM has put together a Spring Break Family Adventure Challenge to help you try new things, make great memories, and have a blast while the kids are out of school.

You don’t have to travel far from home or spend lots of cash to have a great time during the kids’ spring break! {Tweet This} Use this time to try new things and create some great memories by taking—and meeting—each of the challenges below!

1. Culinary Adventure Challenge

Broaden your horizons by eating a new kind of food! There are lots of great ethnic and themed restaurants out there, so venture outside of your family’s chain comfort zone and try some Thai food, Indian food, or some authentic soul food. If you want to get even further into the experience, find an adventurous new recipe and prepare it together before gathering around the table to try it. 2. Outdoor Adventure Challenge

Mild spring weather presents a perfect opportunity to get outdoors and try a new activity. Hiking, canoeing, and rafting are great for all ages and get you close to nature! Your local state parks often have wonderful venues and equipment for rent at a reasonable cost. Don’t forget to take the necessary safety precautions (flotation devices, sunscreen, etc.) and pack lots of snacks and drinks.

3. Cultural Adventure Challenge

Grow together as a family by taking in a cultural event or visiting a museum. Local community theater organizations offer live entertainment for less than the big shows, and many art and history museums offer family rates or allow younger children in free! You’ll be amazed at the types of conversations you’ll have with your children after they see something culturally enriching and interesting.

4. Sports Adventure Challenge

To meet this challenge, your family needs to take on a sport you’ve never tackled! Never tried tennis? Borrow a few rackets and head to the courts. Bowling? Put on the funny shoes and prepare to laugh. Golf? You could take a trip to the public driving range, or keep it light with a round of mini-golf! Whatever new sport you try, remember that you’re not supposed to be good at it—it’s new, after all. Just have fun trying and cheering one another on.
