You’ve probably heard someone say that “to have a healthy marriage and family, your husband should come before your kids.” Maybe in your heart, you agreed, but in your head, you were thinking, “Get real. Have you ever met a kid?” In this episode of the iMOM Podcast, Megan shares how, while she believes in prioritizing her marriage, it’s becoming increasingly difficult now that there’s a toddler and a new baby in the house.

What if the idea of putting someone first is the wrong way to approach prioritizing the people in your family? If you struggle thinking about your kids’ needs going unmet for the sake of your husband’s, you’ll hear a different idea in this episode that might make it a little easier.

It’s nice to pledge yourself to a weekly or monthly date night, but that’s not the only way to put your marriage first. The podcast ladies talk about little ways to show your husband his words, opinion, and needs come before the kids’. You might be surprised by how easy it is to make these things happen. In fact, some require nothing other than holding your tongue.

And if you do get to go on a date, how can you make the time more meaningful? They’ll talk about ways to put the kid talk aside and focus on each other and your marriage. If you haven’t downloaded the Q&U App yet or checked out Susan’s book Lists to Love By for Busy Wives, they are both great tools to help grow your relationship with your husband.
