10 Ways to Pray for Your Daughter

I will never forget the night my daughter called me frantically from college after she had gone with friends to an away football game. When the game was over, her friends went off on their own, leaving my daughter to ride home with a friend’s brother she didn’t even know.

“Mom!” she said to me over the phone, “My phone is dying and I don’t want to ride home with this guy because he’s been drinking!” I advised her to call an Uber, no matter the cost. By then, her phone had died, so I prayed nonstop for the next two hours until she called me and told me she had made it home.

Oh, if we could only cradle our daughters in our arms forever. But we can’t. We release them when they go to school, to sleepovers, to camp, to college. How can we withstand the fears that come with letting our daughters go? Pray—a lot. That’s what I try to do; I try to stay in prayer for my daughter.

Let your daughter know you’re praying for her. In fact, print out our 10 Ways to Pray for Your Daughter to share with her and you can start using it today.
