Have you had a reality check moment that shows you how much the pandemic has changed you as a mom? For today’s storyteller, Abby, that moment was in a huge parking garage. She and her family went to Universal Studios and as they were entering the park, her younger son realized he didn’t have his mask. This would never have been an issue in 2019! Now, masks are part of their checklist: passes, sunscreen, water bottle, masks. Abby, Chloe, Megan, and Susan talk about what they have learned about themselves and their families over the past two years and how they’ve changed.
You probably aren’t the same mom you were in early 2020. You’re probably more aware of germs, your child’s reaction to stress, and how many places masks can get lost in your car. Do you think you’re a better mom today than you were then? Have you found yourself feeling guilty because there were things about the pandemic that you enjoyed? Take an inventory of what you’ve done well over these two years. Hopefully, you’ve made some good changes at home and are able to make them stick.
As the newlywed in the group, Chloe’s experience has been different from Abby’s, Megan’s, and Susan’s. She didn’t have kids to worry about, but her relationship with her husband changed for the better. How did your marriage and friendships evolve? And how have you handled all the blows that came at us during the pandemic? Abby shares some wise words from Pastor Andy Stanley about how to handle bad news and see the world through different eyes. It’s a great lesson to teach our children about the source of joy and peace.
