What’s your favorite back-to-school memory? Or are most of them bad memories because you were the kind of kid who never wanted summer to end? On this episode of the iMOM Podcast, we talk about the best and worst of heading back to school.

It seems like kids fall into one of two camps. Either they sharpen all their pencils and have their first-day outfits styled to a T, or they want to pull the covers over their heads and sleep for another two weeks. Moms, too. Some of us are so ready to get back on a schedule, while others are dreading saying goodbye to the relaxed summer vibes. We’ll share plenty of ideas for how to make the transition better for both mom and kids.

Maybe this is the year you consider making a resolution. We do them at the beginning of the calendar year. Why not try one at the start of a school year? Yours could focus on a habit, organization, building responsibility in your child, or enjoying more weekend downtime. Back to school is a great time to reset and celebrate everyone’s fresh start. One great way to get kids excited about school is to start an All Pro Dad Chapter at your child’s school. It’s a once-per-month gathering of dads and kids when they learn about a character trait, and dads share a reason they’re proud of their children. It’s a great addition to any school and any family. Find out what schools in your area have an All Pro Dad Chapter.
