21 Bible Verses for Encouragement

Are you going through a lot right now? Different seasons of life bring new struggles and that includes ones with our children. I have a child who has just entered the teenage years and another who’s on the cusp. While one is going through a time of joy and fun, the other is worried about everything from friendships to schoolwork. Sometimes I get discouraged with having so much on my plate. I’m trying to be the best mom I can to each of my kids while also being competent at my job and a supportive, attentive wife to my husband.

When things feel overwhelming and you don’t think you’re doing your best at anything, a few encouraging words from a friend can help. But if you want that encouragement now, spend some time with these verses. Comforting words of reassurance are here for you to ponder. Hopefully, you’ll find the Bible verses for encouragement you need to keep doing the best you can at whatever it is you’re struggling with in your season of life.

Therefore, if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted; you consider their grief and take it in hand. The victims commit themselves to you; you are the helper of the fatherless. You, Lord, hear the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry, defending the fatherless and the oppressed, so that mere earthly mortals will never again strike terror.
