“Crazy Mom” Holiday Challenge

Does this time of year make you feel like a crazy mom? It’s supposed to be a joyful season as we prepare for Christ’s birth. But often, the weeks leading up to Christmas can feel more like a hectic sprint to the finish line. We want our homes to look beautiful, decked out for the holidays. And we want to find the perfect gift for everyone on our list. We have social gatherings to attend, Christmas concerts to enjoy, and cookies to bake. On top of it all, we want our children to be on their best behavior. (Because Santa knows who’s naughty and nice!) But making sure all these things happen can zap some of our joy.

Let’s not lose our joy this season. Our “Crazy Mom” Holiday Challenge is here to help. But don’t be turned off by the word “challenge.” It’s true that some challenge can help us accomplish more tasks, get better at a skill, or simply become improved versions of ourselves. But at the same time, those challenges can stress us out, making us feel a little nuts. This challenge is different.

Think of our “Crazy Mom” Holiday Challenge more as a reminder to enjoy the season day by day. Slow down. Savor the little moments that bring happiness. Enjoy your family and your Christmas traditions a little more without the stress of making things perfect. We know it can be hard to resist the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season. But focusing instead on these 10 things can help keep the crazy at bay. Our advice? Tape this challenge to your mirror or kitchen cabinet and remind yourself each day to focus on what matters most. Pretty soon, it’ll be Christmas and we can all rejoice!
